REPAIRS STATUS.

Hey guys, this is just a general update on where things are in the department/what needs to be fixed/what has been fixed, so everyone's on the same page wrt repairs. As of July 2014, gunnery has access to
■ Access to storage (located near the shuttle bay) containing replacement parts for turrets, cannons, and internal control systems.
■ Full access to gunnery command consoles, including turret, cannon and sensor schematics.
Which basically means that they got their access upgraded, and could finally see what the gunnery department should have been able to access all along, what among those things needed to be repaired. and the schematics to follow to be able to do those repairs, such as rebuilding certain pieces from the ground up, etc. Along with schematics for repairs, a handful of other schematics were unlocked, meant for experimental weapons, some meant to be attached to the shuttles down in flight, some that look to be more like bombs, etc. These files are all partially corrupted, and upon further inspection it would have been clear that gunnery doesn't have any of the parts or previously completed weapons to match these schematics. Womp, womp.

Currently, all the consoles on the main battle station are completely operational. The jump does take a toll on them though, and after every jump the consoles and systems within the main battle station will, like all the tech aboard the ship, will exhibit minor problems in the wake of the jump that need to be worked on. They'll never find the same problem twice, but once they locate the glitches they'll be quick fixes.

The main issues lie outside the main battle station. Most of Gunnery's systems are located in different areas inside and outside the ship, and that's where the majority of the damage will be and where the Gunnery crew will want to focus their repair work. These diagnostics have become only available after the department's access was upgraded and all the consoles were repaired, hence the delay.

What we're looking at as far as work is as follows:
SENSORS
As stated in the FAQ, the sensors are probably going to take the most work since they need attention on two fronts. Repairs will need to be made internally to the wires and cables that connect the sensors to the main battle stations, and externally, to the arrays located on the outside of the ship.

There's no clear number of how many sensors there are, so repairs will have to be done by using the blueprints of the ship and working in a grid pattern along the ship itself, and troubleshooting by checking to see how clear the readings are.

Certain places on the ship are unable to be reached internally. The darkened middle of the ship is inaccesible, therefore the arrays on the ships underbelly are unable to be reached to repair the wiring. These can be harvested for spare parts on the outside of the ship instead.

As of 7/12/15, all sensors and arrays are fully operational, exempting those over the belly of the ship which are unreachable for repair.
TURRETS
Like the sensors, the turrets are also made up of internal connecting wires and hardware, and external systems, meaning the actual turret itself located on the outside of the ship. Repairs on both are required for a turret to function. Also as with the sensors, the turrets located on the underbelly of the ship are currently not accessible from the inside of the ship for repairs on their wiring, and will thus remain inoperable.

As of 7/12/15, twelve of the twenty turrets have been repaired, which concludes turret repair and reconstruction.

Total turrets: 20
Operational turrets: 12
Inoperable turrets: 8
CANNONS
There are four plasma cannons on the Tranquility, two of which have been crushed by the pressure caused by the jump and are currently beyond repair due to deadly working conditions around the cannons and lack of necessary parts.

Total cannons: 4
Operational cannons: 2
Inoperable cannons: 2
If you're having your character work on something in particular/you want to work on something in particular/want help working on something in particular, this is your spot to coordinate with the rest of gunnery!

Gunnery's current status is 80% operational.

updated as of 7/12/15
